Privacy Policy
Snowpack has no login, no analytics and no crash reporting, and the game itself runs entirely on your device: your progress is saved locally and is never uploaded. Two features reach outside the device, both optional, and no others: rewarded ads you choose to watch, and in-app purchases. If you never buy anything, nothing about you is ever sent to the developer's server.
Who is responsible
Snowpack is developed and published by Neutrinno Apps. Contact: snowpack.support@gmail.com.
What is stored on your device
The game saves your progress in the app's own local storage. It stays on the device, is never uploaded anywhere, and is not readable by the developer:
- your coin and emerald balance and the cosmetic items and gear you own;
- your character colours and outfit;
- your music and sound effect volume and mute settings;
- if you have made a purchase, the random identifier described below and a note of which purchases have already been paid out, so the same one is never credited twice.
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes all of it permanently. There is no backup and no way to restore it.
Advertising
Snowpack shows one kind of ad: an optional rewarded video you choose to watch in exchange for something in the game. There are two places it is offered, and no others:
- after you lose a run, as a way to get back on your feet and carry on. There is no limit on how many times a run may take it;
- in the cosmetics shop, as a tile that pays a handful of coins towards hats and scarves.
Both are optional. Nothing is ever shown between waves, over the game, or on the way in, and no ad plays unless you tap to start it. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
When an ad is requested or shown, Google receives information directly from your device. The developer does not see it and does not receive any of it. Depending on your settings and region, this can include:
- your Android advertising ID (a resettable identifier);
- your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it;
- device and app information (model, operating system version, app identifier);
- whether the ad was shown, watched or dismissed.
Google's use of this data is governed by its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings > Privacy > Ads on your Android device. Where the law requires it, Google's consent tools ask for your choice before a personalised ad is served.
In-app purchases
The shop sells emeralds and a one-off "no shop ads" purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play: the developer never sees your name, your card, your billing address or any other payment detail, and the app never asks you for them.
What the developer's server does receive, and only when you actually buy something:
- the purchase token Google Play issues for that purchase, and the product id. The server checks the token with Google, because the game must not take a phone's word for a payment, and records the order id Google returns so a refund or a support question can be answered;
- a random identifier the app generates on your device the first time you buy. It is not your advertising id, not your Google account and not anything another app can read; it exists so the purchase you paid for stays yours. No name, no email address and no contact detail of any kind is attached to it;
- your IP address, as with any request over the internet, from which an approximate region can be derived. It is used to serve the request and appears in short-lived server logs.
If you never buy anything, none of this happens. No account is created, and the app does not contact the developer's server at all. Asking Google Play what the items cost goes to Google, not to the developer.
The record of a purchase is kept for as long as tax and chargeback law requires, which is the one thing that survives deleting your account (see below). It is kept without the identifier above and without the purchase token, so it can no longer be linked back to you or to a Google account.
Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet | Loading a rewarded ad, and verifying a purchase if you make one. The game itself plays fully offline. |
| Vibration | Haptic feedback when a hit lands. |
| Billing | In-app purchases through Google Play. Added by Google's billing library; the app cannot charge you any other way. |
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, files, precise location or any other sensitive permission.
Children
Snowpack is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, contact the address above and it will be addressed.
Your rights
If you have never made a purchase, the developer holds nothing about you at all, and clearing the app's data removes everything the game keeps.
If you have, the app deletes the account for you: Options > DELETE ACCOUNT, which asks once to confirm and then removes the account, the identifier, the purchase tokens and the entitlements in one step, on the server and on the device. The game itself keeps working and your progress is untouched, because none of it was ever on the server. Nothing registers you again on its own afterwards; the next purchase you choose to make starts a new account.
You may also ask for a copy of what is held against your account, or for it to be deleted, by writing to snowpack.support@gmail.com.
A purchase you paid for is not lost by deleting your account: buying again on the same product restores it at no charge, because Google Play still knows you own it. Emeralds already spent are gone with the account.
Two things deletion does not reach, and it is fairer to say so than to imply otherwise. The fiscal record described above survives, stripped of anything that points back at you, because tax and chargeback law requires it; GDPR art. 17(3) allows exactly that and nothing more. And database backups still hold the deleted rows until those backups age out on their own, since nobody rewrites a backup to service an erasure.
Requests that concern advertising data are handled by Google under the policies linked above, including rights under the GDPR, the CCPA and the LGPD. You may write to the same address with any question about this policy.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are noted in the app's store listing.
